This piece was hand printed on a portable platen press by Richard Meenely. I used blocky type and kitschy graphics to communicate an event from some time past… perhaps an era where people printed things by hand.

This was created for Donny's recent trio album, Recommended Tools on Greenleaf Music. The pattern is supposed to suggest dimension and intimate communication, the art of the trio.

Trumpet player Pablo Masis gave me a lot of creative freedom on this record. Aside from the literal line at half-past and the trumpets that create design, I also wanted to suggest looking into the bell of the horn, backlit by spotlights.

This pianist requested a collage, a surreal scene that left an impression, illustrating the verb emerge via dramatic light and nature.

This poster needed to inform people of Andrew's show and let them know how to get there. Giant talking type and a map with the three subway lines heading to Clinton Hill was the answer.

Jazz trombonist Sam Burtis needed a cover for his new method book. I used typographic ideas from Blue Note cover art and a halftone dot pattern to illustrate the overtone series, it also served to reference an era in jazz that Sam is most intimate.

Bassist Joe Higgins needed an elegant card that illustrated his profession. F-holes, texture and a typeface called Formata brought down the house.

Filmmaker Erin Harper needed a card to hand out abroad while shooting a documentary about forgotten Polish jazz violinist, Zbinniew Seifert. I chose an emotional typeface and made a series of illustrations of Zbigniew's face so people could better remember him.
